NaVorro Bowman, 49ers agree to four-year, $44 million extension

The San Francisco 49ers are looking for any kind of help on the defensive side of the ball and it looks like they will lock up one of their best players for the foreseeable future. Middle linebacker NaVorro Bowman has been locked up through the 2022 season.

It was reported by multiple sources that Bowman and the 49ers had agreed to a four-year extension worth $44 million with $20 million of it guaranteed. This adds to his current deal, which still had three seasons left on it.

This is a huge deal for the 49ers as Bowman has made a big impact for the team over the last few seasons. He had a massive comeback year in 2015 when he recorded 116 solo tackles and three sacks.

This comes after he suffered a nasty injury in the 2013 NFC Championship Game that cost him the entire 2014 season. Since 2011, Bowman has recorded over 100 solo tackles three times and has 12 total sacks.
