Texas WR DeAndre McNeal suspended indefinitely

The Texas Longhorns haven’t had a lot of luck with young wide receivers this offseason after former five-star receiver Ryan Newsome transferred to Arizona State. Now, DeAndre McNeal, a four-star receiver from the class of 2015, has been suspended indefinitely.

Anwar Richardson on Rivals.com reported that the rising sophomore had been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules on Wednesday afternoon. There are currently no details on the suspension available, but Richardson did say that he expects McNeal to be with the team when they start practice on Saturday.

Not sure how long DeAndre McNeal's suspension will be, but I am not expecting him to be with the team when practice starts on Saturday

McNeal played a very minimal role for the Longhorns in his true freshman season, but he has a ton of potential to be a big star for the team.

If his off-field troubles get cleared up, he could be a key piece for Texas this season.
