Jovon Robinson: ‘Everything about the Auburn coaching staff is not what it seems’

Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that Auburn had dismissed running back Jovon Robinson and it looks like there was a pretty ugly split between the two. The senior running back is not going to go quietly to continue his career.

Robinson was asked a series of questions by AL.com and he wrote them a message answering all of them at once. It seems like he felt ridiculed during his short time with the Auburn Tigers.

Everything about (the) Auburn coaching staff is not what it seems,” Robinson wrote. “Just because I don’t walk around with (a) fake smile, they feel like they (can) say or try to force anything.

“I was stereotyped and disrespected. The football players are not happy with this.”

Head coach Gus Malzahn revealed after the team’s first training camp practice, for which Robinson was not present, that he had dismissed the running back. It was later reported that he had missed classes and meetings, but Robinson stands against that while also denying any kind of altercation or failed drug test.

“It’s nothing about me missing class or not paying attention,” Robinson told AL.com.

This is certainly an odd situation with for the former Tiger running back, but Auburn will move forward into the 2016 season, likely with Kerryon Johnson at the starting role. Robinson will also move on, looking to finish his final year of eligibility elsewhere.
