Defensive tackle Travonte Valentine has been fighting to rejoin the LSU Tigers this summer and it looks like his hard work has finally paid off. The former four-star tackle has been rule immediately eligible and will be on the field for the team this fall.
Ryan Bartow of 247Sports reported that Valentine had been ruled eligible for the Tigers this season and he will begin practicing with the team this week. He will have three years of eligibility left to play for LSU.
“I want to focus on my three years at LSU to graduate and hopefully win a few National Championships,” Valentine said. “I’ve matured as a man since I left and want to prove myself to the wonderful fans at LSU.”
Travonte Valentine spent the 2015 season at Arizona Western Junior College and then transferred Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. This came after he was dismissed from the team due to academic issues ahead of the 2014 season, his true freshman year.
Valentine joined LSU in 2014 as a four-star member of their recruiting class. He was a four-star junior college player for the 2016 class and the top-ranked defensive tackle in the country.
