LSU loses Christian LaCouture, Isaiah Washington for season

Tuesday morning, it was reported that two defensive players for the LSU Tigers had went down with what seem to be major injuries. It was later reported that senior defensive end Christian LaCouture and redshirt freshman linebacker Isaiah Washington would be out for the 2016 season.

The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger reported that the team would lose LaCouture to a torn ACL while Washington suffered serious ligament damage in his knee as well.

They will both miss the 2016 season, which is a big blow for the Tigers.

LaCouture was expected to be the team’s starter at defensive end after he decided to return for his senior season instead of heading to the NFL. Luckily for LSU, the return of Travonte Valentine, who was dismissed from the team in 2014 due to academic issues, should soften the blow.

Washington, on the other hand, was a three-star member of the Tigers’ 2015 recruiting class and he could end up receiving a medical hardship waiver to gain this lost year of eligibility back.
