The Kansas Jayhawks haven’t been great a force on the football field for some time. However, their special teams game just got a lot better for the 2017 season when five-star kicker Liam Jones announced his commitment to the program.

Jones, a rising senior at Choctaw High in Oklahoma, was first approached by the Jayhawks at a satellite camp in his home state earlier this year.

He took to Twitter to announce his commitment on Tuesday.

I have faith in my hard work and that it would soon pay off,” Jones told Jayhawk Slant prior to committing. “… When coach DeForest told me he was going to offer me I felt really blessed. It is one of the best feelings I’ve ever had.”

Liam Jones is currently the No. 3 kicker in the country for the 2017 class.
