Video: LSU RB Leonard Fournette in ‘street fight’ with teammate?

The LSU Tigers found themselves with an unwanted distraction on their hands Wednesday, when TMZ released video of what appears to show star running back Leonard Fournette in a streetfight with a teammate, offensive lineman Garrett Brumfield, outside of Tiger Stadium.

While the two players can be seen throwing numerous haymakers at their teammates’ head, LSU officials insist the video was simply horseplay.

LSU associate Athletic Director of Communications Michael Bonnette told TMZ that it was just an intense game of “slap boxing.” He later said, “What you don’t see is when the video cuts off, they hug it out. They’re not mad at each other. No one was injured.”

If this truly is just nothing more than a little bit of fun between teammates, we’d have to assume head coach Les Miles will put an end to this immediately. The last thing you want is your star running back and Heisman front-runner hurt for goofing around with a 6-foot-3, 305-pound offensive lineman.

And if this is something more serious, well, let’s hope that any possible beef would be settled.

The Tigers have a very promising season ahead, so hopefully they will be focused on living up to those high expectations when they take the field. One way to do that is to stop throwing huge punches at your teammates’ heads.
