The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders had a pretty good 2015 season as they went 7-6 and made the Bahamas Bowl. They look to do much of the same this year, but they will be without a big piece of their offense as wide receiver Terry Pettis will miss the entire season.
Aldo Giovanni Amato of The Daily News Journal reported that Pettis suffered a right leg injury and it will likely require surgery as he will miss the 2016 season. He is the second wide receiver to go down with an injury as Shane Tucker will miss the year as well.
“Terry is a huge, huge loss,” head coach Rick Stockstill said. “Losing Ed Batties (graduation) and now Terry, that’s at least 1,600 yards lost production.”
Last year, Pettis recorded 975 yards and five touchdowns, while Tucker recorded nearly 200 yards and two scores. Losing these two players will be a big blow for the Blue Raiders.
