To say the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference was chaotic would be selling it short. On Wednesday, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz fielded questions from the press before everything blew up in the most intense, bizarre scene in the promotion’s history.
After Conor McGregor strolled in fashionably late for the press conference, Diaz decided to make a statement of his own.
Diaz and his entire team then left the theater, shouting at McGregor on the way out with plenty of middle finger action a.k.a. Stockton flair. Diaz then tossed a water bottle at Conor McGregor, who was shouting back, before all hell broke loose.
McGregor grabbed everything he could and launched it in Diaz’s direction, while UFC president Dana White pleaded with the fighters to stop.
Eventually, White, who was in complete disbelief, called the press conference.
