Louisiana-Lafayette lands Mizzou transfer Jakeenan Gant

Earlier this year, it was reported that the Missouri Tigers would lose power forward Jakeenan Gant to transfer. Now, it seems he has found his future home as he will take his talents to play for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.

Josh Parrott of basketballtimes.com reported that Gant would be heading to play in the Sun Belt going into the future. This is a huge get for the Cajuns as Gant was expected to be one of the better players in the SEC this year.

Gant was once a top 50 recruit and was a four-star player out of Springfield, Georgia in the 2014 class. He averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 boards in 15 minutes per game as a sophomore last season.

He will sit out the 2016-17 season and have two years of eligibility starting next year. He is certainly looking to help the Cajuns make their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014 and their 11th overall.
