ESPN reveals GEICO High School Showcase

High school football has changed drastically over the last few years as ESPN has began airing some of the biggest games in the country ever year. The 2016 season will be no different as they announced the 2016 GEICO High School Showcase on Tuesday.

The showcase features some of the best teams in the country and some of the more talented players in the 2017 and 2018 recruiting classes. One game will pit top-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas and No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Nevada) while also featuring top-ranked running back and Alabama commit Najee Harris facing off against De La Salle.

Another interesting game to check out will be the California School for the Deaf facing off against Woodland Christian on Oct. 27. Here is the full schedule of games for the 2016 season:

  • Sept. 2: St. Frances Academy (Md.) vs. Paramus Catholic (N.J.)
  • Sept. 9: Greater Atlanta Christian (Ga.) vs. Valor Christian (Colo.)
  • Sept. 16: St. Joseph Prep (Pa.) vs. Archbishop Wood (Pa.)
  • Sept. 23: Brother Martin (La.) vs. No. 16 John Curtis (La.), Antioch (Calif.) vs. De La Salle (Calif.)
  • Sept. 30: No. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) vs. No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Nev.)
  • Oct. 13: Saraland (Ala.) vs. Spanish Fort (Ala.)
  • Oct. 21: No. 4 IMG Academy (Fla.) vs. Trinity Christian (Fla.)
  • Oct. 27: Woodland Christian (Calif.) vs. California School for the Deaf (Calif.)
  • Oct. 28: No. 2 Grayson (Ga.) vs. Hoover (Ala.)
  • Nov. 3: No. 15 DeSoto (Texas) vs. Sough Grand Prairie (Texas)
  • Nov. 4: No. 9 DeMatha (Md.) vs. Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.)
