The Texas A&M Aggies are looking to bounce back from the 2015 season, where they went 8-5 for the second year in a row. They hope to make a big impact in the SEC and running back James White should help them do just that.
It was reported by Mark Passwaters of Rivals.com that White is currently sitting on top of the team’s depth chart at running back. He reportedly sits in front of Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford.
This is especially interesting since Ford, who transferred in from Oklahoma last year, was at one point expected to be the starter, but has for some reason dropped to third behind Williams, a four-star true freshman. In two seasons with the Sooners, Ford recorded 526 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, five of which came in 2014, and 140 yards and a touchdown through the air, all of which came in 2014 as well.
White, a redshirt junior, has recorded 349 yards and four touchdowns in two seasons with the Aggies. It will be interesting to see what he can do in a much bigger role with the team this year.
The Aggies open the season on Sept. 3 against UCLA.
