Auburn names Sean White starting QB

The Auburn Tigers are looking to make a big turnaround this year after they had a rather disappointing 2015 season. They have had an interesting quarterback battle this summer and they have found their starter for at least the season opener.

Sean White split time with Jeremy Johnson throughout the 2015 season and started five games before suffering an injury. Thursday evening, Gus Malzahn named him for the season opener against Clemson.

White will be a redshirt sophomore this year and he threw for just under 1,200 yards and one touchdown against four interceptions last year. He looks to improve off of that this year and hold off Johnson and JUCO transfer John Franklin III.

He will have to contend against a tough Clemson defense when they meet up on The Plains on Sept. 3.
