The Florida Atlantic Owls have suffered a major loss along the offensive line.
On Sunday, the program announced star offensive lineman Reggie Bain, who was an All-Conference USA preseason selection, was injured during a vehicle accident and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
The good news is FAU said Bain’s injuries ““not life threatening,” but they will not release any further details at this time.
“I have been in constant contact and have visited with both Reggie and his family,” head coach Charlie Partridge said in a statement.
“His FAU football family has surrounded him with support and will continue to do so. Out of respect to Reggie, his family and our team, all questions should only be directed to me. I know that inquiries may be well-intentioned, under the HIPPA law, and per the request of Reggie and his family, there is very little I can disclose.”
The 6-foot-4 and 290 pounder has yet to use his redshirt season. We would like to wish Bain a full and speedy recovery.
FAU opens its 2016 season next weekend against Southern Illinois.
