Wisconsin LB T.J. Edwards out for LSU game

Earlier this summer, it was reported that Wisconsin linebacker T.J. Edwards was out indefinitely with a pretty serious foot injury. It seems that injury will affect his 2016 season as the Badgers will not have him on the field for opening weekend.

Jason Galloway of the Wisconsin State-Journal reported early Tuesday morning that Edwards had been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the LSU Tigers, who travel to Lambeau Field for the Big Ten/SEC showdown. This is a huge deal for the Badgers as Edwards led the team with 84 tackles in 2015.

The Badgers will now have to rely on Chris Orr and Jack Cichy to fill the gap for Edwards. Both of them will start at inside linebacker with the sophomore out for Saturday.

Luckily for this team, Cichy and Orr are both capable of making plays after they combined for 106 tackles in 2015. They also have Vince Biegel healthy and ready to make an impact this year at outside linebacker.

It should be a great game as the Badgers and Tigers meet up on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 3:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
