Could former Baylor football coach Art Briles be eyeing a return to the sidelines? It is increasingly clear that Briles hopes to return to coaching and he took a step towards that goal on Friday by signing super agent Jimmy Sexton.
The news was reported by ESPN’s Mark Schlabach.
Sexton represents a number of prominent college football coaches including Alabama’s Nick Saban, Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher, USC’s Clay Helton and Georgia’s Kirby Smart. He previously attempted to secure Briles as a client. Now, he has the chance to line Briles up with a new gig for 2017.
Briles was fired over the summer as the Baylor football program was emerged in a sexual assault scandal. He also remains listed as one of the defendants in a Title IX lawsuit against the university.
Throughout his career as a college head coach at Baylor and Houston, Briles compiled a 99–65 record.
We will have to see if and where he lands on his feet.
