Texas A&M has one of the top defensive talents in college football in star linebacker Myles Garrett.
Many believe Garrett is a future top draft pick and his potential has scouts around the NFL drooling. In fact, one NFC executive went as far as to compare Garrett to one of the top young defenders in the league today, Khalil Mack of the Oakland Raiders.
“I’ve had a chance to interact with him a little bit and I really like the person as much as the player. He loves the 1970s, which is when I came up, so I like seeing him wear the natural and the sideburns. I don’t worry about ‘checking the boxes’ or whatever it is you guys say. He’s a stud. He gets to the quarterback and will be an All-Pro. He’s Khalil Mack to me,” the executive told NFL Media.
Another executive in the NFC called Mack a better version of St. Louis Rams standout Robert Quinn.
With such impressive comparisons, it’s easy to understand why everyone is excited to see how Garrett can continue to emerge in College Station.
As long as he doesn’t take a step back in 2016, he is destined for a multi-million dollar payday at the next level. It’s going to be fun to watch how Garrett continues to evolve as a player under the microscope.
