The first touchdown of the Kirby Smart era is in the books and it came from a player making his triumphant return to the gridiron.
In Saturday’s Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and North Carolina Tar Heels, it was star running back Nick Chubb, who was returning from a devastating knee injury that ended his 2015 campaign, who rushed across the goal line for the first points of the season.
Chubb, who totaled 53 yards and a touchdown in just ten minutes, punched the ball in from two yards out.

It’s safe to say UGA fans will want to see a lot more of that this season.
Georgia currently holds a 7-0 lead over the Tar Heels.
