The Louisville Cardinals kicked off their 2016 campaign on a high note, with a 70-14 shellacking of the Charlotte 49ers on Thursday night. However, Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino still ended up being the butt of some jokes.
During the Clemson vs. Auburn broadcast on Saturday, ESPN analyst Brent Musburger took some time to troll Petrino by making a comment about the motorcycle incident which led to an adultery scandal and Petrino ultimately losing his job.
Musberger delivered the backhanded compliment, saying Petrino is a good coach when he’s off his motorcycle.
The comment seemingly came out of nowhere, especially since it was Clemson and Auburn who were competing in a highly-competitive game. Regardless, Musberger took his jab.
Geez. Tell us how you really feel, Brent.
The comment may be a little out of bounds, but I’m sure there were plenty of people who got a chuckle. We should try to keep these comments to areas where they are relevant, though.
