Notre Dame WR Torii Hunter Jr. suffers concussion

During last night’s game against the Texas Longhorns, Notre Dame wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. took a wicked shot to his head in the endzone. He immediately went down and was not able to return to the game.

Hunter’s father, former MLB star Torii Hunter Sr., said that Hunter Jr. had suffered a “little concussion,” but that “can’t keep a Hunter down.”

I am sure the Fighting Irish don’t feel the same way about his concussion and will do everything in their power to make sure he is fully ready to return to the field. These are certainly something you don’t want to take chances on in this day and age of contact sports.

The Fighting Irish take on the Nevada Wolf Pack next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
