Former Florida State and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston was on the Seminoles’ sideline for last night’s 45-34 win over the Ole Miss Rebels. The team went into the locker room at halftime down 28-13 and the former Heisman Trophy winner decided to give his former team a pep talk.
Winston was clearly upset with how the Seminoles played in the first half and he gave them a rousing speech on how they needed to play much better in the second half. He said that they were “dogs, not puppies” and said that the receivers “cannot be stopped.”
It certainly seemed like Winston’s speech worked as the Seminoles outscored the Rebels 32-6 in the second half.
They moved on to the big victory and I am sure head coach Jimbo Fisher, who was already losing his voice before the game, was happy to see that his former quarterback could get his players fited up.
Let’s see if Winston continues to give these speeches when the Seminoles are in dire straits.
