Wisconsin’s Jack Cichy named Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week

Following the Wisconsin’s stunning win over LSU in the season-opener, which led to the team going from unranked to No. 10 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, one of the Badgers’ top defenders has received a national honor.

On Tuesday, Wisconsin inside linebacker Jack Cichy was named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week.

Cichy led the team in tackles with eight, while recording one tackle for a loss and a sack.

From the official release:

Cichy logged a team-high eight tackles, including one tackle for loss, and forced a fumble as part of a defensive effort that saw the UW defense surrender just seven points and 257 total yards to the Tigers in a 16-14 win at Lambeau Field.

In recognition of Cichy’s performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsor of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to UW’s general scholarship fund.

Congratulations to Cichy on the honor and to the Badgers for starting the season on a high note.

Wisconsin returns to action this weekend against Akron.
