Last week, it was reported that USC linebackers Osa Masina and Don Hill were under investigation for a reported rape case over the summer. Because of this, they were suspended for the season opener against Alabama and it doesn’t seem like they will play this week either.
Head coach Clay Helton confirmed that both players would not play this weekend against the Utah State Aggies. Neither player has been arrested or charged in the investigation so far, but I wouldn’t expect them to go much longer without some kind of legal repercussions.
Both players played a small role for the Trojans during the 2015 season. Hill recorded just seven tackles in three games while Masina had 25 tackles in nine games.
It certainly looks like Helton is trying to make sure the rest of the team knows that awful situation cannot continue to happen within their program.
