Georgia five-star freshman quarterback Jacob Eason was impressive in his career debut last week against the North Carolina Tar Heels. He will be getting the starting nod this weekend against Nicholls State.
It was reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s Dawg Nation that Eason will get his first career start over fifth-year senior Greyson Lambert on Saturday. He will become the first true freshman to start a game for the Bulldogs since Matthew Stafford did so in 2006 and he worked out pretty well for the team in Athens.
In the Bulldogs’ 33-24 win over the Tar Heels last Saturday, Eason played extensively from a backup role. He went 8-12 with 131 yards and a touchdown.
It will be fun to see what the top-ranked pro-style quarterback out of high school can do against a rather weak Nicholls State this weekend. The Bulldogs kick off at 12 noon EST on SEC Network.
