Leonard Fournette likely a game-time decision for Week 2

The LSU Tigers look to rebound from a season-opening loss to Wisconsin when Jacksonville State visits Baton Rouge on Saturday, but they may have to take the field without the team’s star running back.

According to head coach Les Miles, Fournette is expected to play but if he is unable to go the Tigers will not know until game-time as he continues to deal with a nagging leg injury.

“Leonard Fournette is a go, and if not a go, we won’t know until game day,” Miles said during his weekly segment, “Last Word with Les.”

If Fournette is unable to go, sophomore Derrius Guice will likely get the call.

Earlier this summer, Fournette suffered a high ankle sprain. At the end of the team’s Week 1 loss, Fournette once sustained what Miles called a lower leg contusion.

LSU and Jacksonville State are scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU. We will know then whether Fournette will look to add to his yard total for the 2016 season.
