Video: P.J. Fleck explains ‘Row the Boat’ mantra

The Western Michigan Broncos had one of their best seasons in school history last year as they went 8-5 and won the Bahamas Bowl over Middle Tennessee State. It certainly looks like they are going to have a great season this year as well, especially after they pulled off the upset over Northwestern last week.

One big reason for their success in recent years is the new attitude head coach P.J. Fleck has brought to Kalamazoo. His “Row the Boat” mantra is a big part of their success and he joined SportsCenter at Midnight Friday morning and explained it to those who may be a bit confused.

He said that is about going all in with the team and being willing to work as one unit to move forward with what they are doing.

Fleck took the Broncos from a 1-11 team in 2013, his first season, to 8-5 in each of the last two seasons. They won a share of the MAC West title in 2015 and are the favorites in the conference this year.
