Earlier this week, it was reported that Houston quarterback Greg Ward underwent an MRI on his shoulder, which he injured in the season opener against Oklahoma. Despite not having any serious damage to his arm, the Cougars have decided to hold the quarterback out against FCS opponent Lamar.
SI.com’s Pete Thamel reported that Ward would be out against Lamar today and Kyle Postma would get just his second career start today. It shouldn’t be too big of a blow for the Cougars as they are expected to win this game big.

During the 2015 season, Postma threw for 453 yards and three scores with an interception in eight appearances on the season. He is looking to make a big impact for the Cougars today.
Houston and Lamar square off at 12 noon EST on ESPN3.
