Keenan Allen’s much anticipated return for Chargers fans was cut tragically short Sunday afternoon when he suffered what seemed to be an injury to his knee.
Allen lacerated his kidney last season in a Week 8 loss vs. the Baltimore Ravens and missed the rest of the year.

Sunday’s injury vs. the Chiefs came after a minimal-contact knee-buckle as he began a sharp cut left on his route, raising concerns for a torn ACL.
The obvious concern for Keenan Allen is an ACL tear after non-contact injury. That Chargers/Chiefs game has now gone to the half

Peters, who was shadowing the Chargers receiver, went over to check on Allen as he laid on the ground in pain.
Allen was immediately put on a cart and taken off the field as he covered his face, in tears.

The raw emotion of Allen’s only makes us fear the worst, especially with the UC-Berkeley alumnus’ injury-prone history.
Thoughts were quick to pour in, however, with a couple of current teammates in wide receiver Stevie Johnson and running back Branden Oliver tweeting their support for their fellow Charger.
Praying for you Slayer @Keenan13Allen

All the slayer fans pray for @keenan13allen 🙏

Johnson who underwent knee surgery in the off-season, will miss the entirety of this NFL season along with Oliver, who suffered a torn Achilles in a pre-season game.
Tough luck for Allen and the Chargers.
