At UFC 203, Mickey Gall easily handed former WWE superstar Phil “CM Punk” Brooks to advance his professional record to 3-0.
After his win, Gall used the opportunity to call out fellow “Looking For A Fight” star Sage Northcutt. Gall continued his call out of Northcutt at the post-fight press conference, where he specifically asked for a November date at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden.
UFC president Dana White commented on Gall vs. Northcutt at the end of the night, saying Northcutt’s team has already contacted the UFC about making the bout happen.
“Mickey Gall will move forward. We’ll see what happens with CM Punk and what he wants to do,” White told Megan Olivi on the FOX Sorts 1 post-fight show.
“Sage’s people texted me after Gall’s callout and said they’d like the fight.”
Northcutt (8-1) is coming off of a decision win over Enrique Marins at UFC 200 back in July. Northcutt is widely regarded as one of the top prospects at 155-pounds, so it will be interesting to see if the UFC matches the pair of up-and-comers against each other.
What could complicate things, however, is that Gall is a welterweight while Northcutt is a lightweight.
