4-star WR OrTre Smith commits to South Carolina

Over the weekend, four-star wide receiver OrTre Smith, one of the top pass catchers in the Class of 2017, announced his commitment to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina is currently rated as the No. 19 overall receiver in the nation and the No. 1 high school recruit in his state, according to 247 Sports.

Smith announced his commitment in a video with Campus Insiders.

He chose the Gamecocks over schools like Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina.

Keeping Smith close to home is a major get for head coach Will Muschamp, who is looking to help the Gamecocks become a prominent force in the SEC.
