Hayden Hunt named Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week

Week 2 of the 2016 college football season is in the books, so the weekly honors are beginning to roll out. For Colorado State punter Hayden Hunt, that meant adding a piece of hardware to his trophy case.

On Monday, the Augusta Sports Council and Ray Guy Award announced Hunt has been named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week.

Hunt receives the honor for his performance against UTSA on Saturday where he seven punts for 327 yards, for an average of 46.7 yards per punt. Five of Hunt’s kicks downed the Roadrunners inside of the 20-yard line. His net average was 41.9 yards.

Hunt, a preseason All-American, was a Ray Guy Award finalist in 2015 and earned All-American honors.

If he continues to perform like he did in Week 2, he should once again be among the finalists to receive the award handed out to college football’s best punter.
