For years, former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has teased and discussed a possible move to the heavyweight division. That was always contingent on Jones feeling there was a legitimate challenge in the weight class.
Following Stipe Miocic’s successful and impressive title defense at UFC 203 in his hometown of Cleveland, those discussions have been reignited.
Jones commented on a possible fight with Miocic on social media, admitting the heavyweight title holder would be “the challenge of a lifetime.”
I'm starting to realize the hype is real with that guy. He's legit, I would be the challenge of a lifetime https://t.co/ybke2pAtAC

Miocic said following UFC 203 that he would like to take some time off after going through back-to-back fight camps. When he returns, potential bouts with ex-champions Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum add immediate intrigue.
Jones, meanwhile, is currently serving a temporary suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission and the United States Anti-Doping Agency for failed drug tests prior to UFC 200.
Could the two men meet in the cage one day? Only time will tell, but on paper, it would be one hell of a fight.
