LSU football: Tigers open as 16-point favorites over Mississippi State

The LSU Tigers stumbled out of the gate to start the 2016 college football season, but they rebounded nicely in Week 2 with a dominant win over Jacksonville State.

LSU looks to keep that momentum rolling into Week 3 and it appears the folks in Vegas are firm believers in the Tigers’ chances.

When the Week 3 betting odds were released on Monday, LSU opened as a commanding 16-point favorite over SEC foe Mississippi State. The unranked Bulldogs are coming off of a win over South Carolina last weekend, following a stunning loss to South Alabama in the season-opener.

Vegas Insider now has a line on #LSU-MSU. The Tigers have opened up as 16-point favorites

That's quite a large spread…..

Considering the Bulldogs lost to South Alabama on opening weekend, it’s easy to see why LSU is so heavily favored. After all, this is a team that began the season as the No. 5 team in the nation and with national title hopes.

The loss to Wisconsin was a bit of a setback, but Leonard Fournette is expected to return to the field in Week 3 and the LSU offense should finally get rolling.
