Minnesota tight end Brandon Lingen to miss 4-5 weeks

The Minnesota Golden Gophers offense has taken a hit. In the third quarter of Saturday’s win over Indiana State, tight end Brandon Lingen went down with an injury.

Minnesota head coach Tracy Claeys has since announced Lingen has suffered a broken clavicle.

As a result, the tight end will be forced out of action for the next four to five weeks. It is believed that he will be forced to undergo surgery and have a plate inserted, according to the Star-Tribune.

Lingen has just one catch for 17 yards this season.

In 2015, Lingen recorded 428 receiving yards and three touchdowns while receiving All-Big Ten honors.

The Golden Gophers are off this weekend, before returning to action on Saturday, Sept. 24 when they play host to the Colorado State Rams.
