Minnesota football: Cops investigating suspended players after alleged sexual assault

Three members of the Minnesota football program — cornerbacks KiAnte Hardin and Ray Buford, safety Dior Johnson and defensive end Tamarion Johnson — were suspended for last weekend’s game against Indiana State for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Now, reports indicate police are investigating four suspended members of the program to see if they were involved in an alleged sexual assault.

According to the Associated Press, the alleged assault took place following the team’s season-opening win over Oregon State.

The players have not been arrested or charged with any crime at this time.

The undefeated Gophers are off this weekend, before traveling to Colorado State on Sept. 24.
