In what is likely music to the ears of LSU football fans, Tigers head coach Les Miles officially announced Brandon Harris will be heading to the bench as Danny Etling takes over as starter for the team’s Week 3 match up against conference opponent Mississippi State.

Through two games this season, Harris is a measly 13-25 with 139 yards and one touchdown and two interceptions. Harris was benched in favor of Etling during last week’s win over Jacksonville State.
Etling, a transfer from Purdue, went 6-of-14 for 100 yards, a touchdown and an interception in relief for Harris.
Whether the change sparks the LSU offense and helps the team play to the level many expected leading up to the season remains to be seen, but it was time for the Tigers to attempt something in order to jumpstart the offense.
LSU and Mississippi State are set for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday on ESPN2.
