The Wisconsin Badgers barely pulled out a win over the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday and their offense looked nearly useless on the day. Quarterback Bart Houston ended up getting pulled from the game in favor of Alex Hornibrook, but it still looks like the senior will be their guy going forward.
David Hookstead of The Daily Caller originally reported that Hornibrook would get the start next week at Michigan State, but head coach Paul Chryst denied that and mentioned that Houston was still their guy after the 23-17 win.
“Just got done with the game. Like I said, Bart’s our starter right now,” Chryst said. “I’m proud of what Alex did and how he came in. So I’m not planning anything right now other than appreciating this win.”
Houston struggled mightily against the Panthers, going 10-of-18 for 91 yards. Hornibrook was 8-of-12 for 122 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in relief play.
The Badgers meet up against the Spartans in East Lansing next Saturday.
