4-star DE Donovan Jeter commits to Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Class of 2017 just got a lot stronger, with the addition of four-star defensive end Donovan Jeter on Monday morning. Jeter had made his official visit to Notre Dame last week.

Jeter, a Beaver Falls High School (Pa.) standout, announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish with a statement on Twitter.

“First I want to thank god for blessing me and putting me in position to be able to choose from such great schools,” Jeter wrote on Twitter.

“I want to thank every coach who offered me a scholarship and believed in me. I also want to thank everyone who helped me along the way with making this decision. This was not an easy decision but I’m doing what’s best for me. With that being said, after many months of going through this process, I’ll be furthering my education and football career at the University of Notre Dame.”

The 6-4, 250-pounder chose Notre Dame offer offers from Pittsburgh, Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Stanford and others.

It’s a major get for Brian Kelly’s program.

Jeter is currently rated by 247 Sports as the No. 14 player in the country at his position and the No. 6 player in the state of Pennsylvania.
