Kevin Love matches Russell Westbrook’s donation to UCLA

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook were teammates for one season at UCLA. Westbrook made a big donation to the school last year and Love has now decided to match the donation.

Love gave an undisclosed amount of money to the Mo Ostin Basketball Center project and will have the strength and conditioning center named after him once it is built.

It reportedly is the same amount as Westbrook’s donation from last year.

UCLA will always be my home,” Love said in a statement. “I have such fond memories of my time here from meeting Coach (John) Wooden, to our run to the Final Four. I want to give back to the school and help prepare all the athletes who come through UCLA sports programs for their next steps, just like my time on campus prepared me.”

During the 2007-08 season, the pair led the Bruins to the Final Four for the third straight year. They then went on to be top-five picks in the NBA Draft.
