Invicta FC 19 took place at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday night, headlined by a championship double-header in the atomweight and flyweight divisions.
Both women entering the night as reigning champions — Ayaka Hamasaki and Jennifer Maia — left the arena with their belt still in hand after very different endings.
In the co-main event, Hamasaki retained her atomweight title with a controversial win over Jinh Yu Frey. Frey suffered a gnarly cut over her eye which forced the doctor to come in and stop the fight in the second round.
In the main event, Maia claimed the undisputed flyweight title by narrowly edging fan-favorite Roxanne Modafferi by split decision.
