Louisville Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson is one of the most explosive players in college football and a clear favorite for the Heisman Trophy. This week, Jackson has another tough matchup ahead as he leads the Cardinals into Death Valley for a meeting with the No. 5 Clemson Tigers which will host ESPN’s College GameDay.
As Clemson prepares to attempt to slow down Jackson, Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney has nothing but high praise for the star signal-caller. Specifically, Swinney compared Jackson to another former ACC great.
“He’s Michael Vick, right-handed,” Swinney told ESPN’s Marty Smith.
That wasn’t the first time we have heard the comparison and it likely won’t be the last. In fact, Michael Vick himself commented on Lamar Jackson when Jackson was torching the Florida State defense two weeks ago.
Lamar Jackson 5x better than what I was at V-Tech….Enough said!! #future

Through the first month of the season, Jackson has thrown for 1,330 yards, 13 touchdowns and three interceptions. On the ground, the Heisman front-runner has added another 526 yards and 12 scores.
If that production continues, Jackson will be a shoo-in to claim college football’s most prestigious award in New York later this year.
Louisville and Clemson are set for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC.
