Les Miles hints coaching career isn’t over

The LSU Tigers surprised everyone by firing Les Miles on Sunday after the team fell to 2-2 despite high expectations entering the season. Miles wasted little time speaking out about his firing and he seems to still support his now-former Tigers team.

Miles joined The Dan Patrick Show Monday morning and spoke about his firing from LSU after almost 12 seasons in Baton Rouge. He supported their decision and said that he wishes the team luck in the rest of the season and hopes to see them succeed.

“And I’m for the Tigers, anything that they see makes the Tigers better then I’m for them,” Miles said. “And I accept it. That outcome and will support that decision and these Tigers as we go forward.”

Miles then went to talk about his future and said that he doesn’t see himself being anywhere else except for on the football field.

“I don’t golf. I play no tennis. I enjoy shooting the gun, I don’t necessarily like to point it at animals. I play cards, not very well. But what I have done for probably 12-14 hours a day for the last, I don’t know, number of years is coach football,” Miles said. “I would have a difficult time not being involved in the game and not being a coach.”

During his career with the Tigers, Les Miles led them to a 114-34 record and two SEC championships. He also led them to the BCS National Championship in 2008 and another appearance in the game in 2011.

It is hard to believe he will be without a job for much longer going into the future.
