The Baton Rouge sheriffs department responded to a domestic disturbance call on Nicholson drive at 5:10 AM on Monday morning and booked three-year LSU defensive lineman Davon Godchaux when all was said and done.
Godchaux was involved in an altercation with the mother of his ten-month-old child and was taken in on charges of domestic abuse battery/child endangerment and false imprisonment. Godchaux’s girlfriend was likewise booked on domestic abuse battery/child endangerment due to the police receiving conflicting reports about the incident.
All charges issued are misdemeanors and Godchaux posted bond later in the day. He has been suspended indefinitely.
According to the report filed by officers at the scene, the two engaged in a “tussle” over infidelity in the relationship and Godchaux’s desire to separate. In her statement, Godchaux’s girlfriend said she grew “increasingly upset”. When she attempted to leave the apartment, Godchaux allegedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back inside, tossing her near the couch.
Godchaux wears braces and police observed a series of cuts along the inside of his mouth.
Godchaux’s arrest comes on the heels of the firing of head coach Les Miles. Godchaux’s position coach, Ed Orgeron, was named head coach and held a press conference earlier in the morning.
