Clemson DB Jadar Johnson doesn’t know who Lamar Jackson is

The Clemson Tigers and Louisville Cardinals meet up in one of the biggest games of the year this weekend. However, it seems that one Tiger is not sure who the Cardinals’ best player is.

Safety Jadar Johnson spoke to reporters on Tuesday and seemed to not have any idea who wore No. 8 on the Louisville roster. No. 8 is quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is the best player in the country right now and is by far and away leading the Heisman Trophy race.

Johnson explained that he doesn’t learn players’ names, but rather their jersey numbers, so he is still very aware of how talented Jackson is. He then explained what he will do if Jackson tries to make a Heisman moment against him.

Jadar Johnson is asked about Lamar Jackson and says "That's who, No. 8?" Asked what he'd do if Jackson tries to hurdle him: "Body slam him."

Clemson SS Jadar Johnson solely referring to Lamar Jackson as Number 8. Why? "I only see the game film, and I don't hear his name on that."

So far this year, Jackson has been on fire as he has scored 25 total touchdowns in just four games. That number is already two better than his total number from the 2015 season.

If Johnson doesn’t know who Lamar Jackson is, he will likely know after their game this weekend. The Tigers and Cardinals meet up on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
