Urban Meyer denies being contacted by LSU

Another day, another big-name football coach denying being in contact with the LSU Tigers. It is no secret that the Bayou Bengals are going to want a big name to replace recently-fired Les Miles, but Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer won’t be it.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Meyer was among a list of names the Tigers were set to contact, which also included Alabama’s Nick Saban and Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher. However, the Buckeyes’ head coach spoke with Tim May of Columbus Dispatch and said that he hadn’t been contacted and would be remaining in Columbus regardless.

Meyer has been with the Ohio State Buckeyes 2012 and has gone 53-4 with a Big Ten and national championship in 2014. Before heading up to Columbus, Meyer spent six seasons at Florida from 2005-2010 where he won two SEC titles and two national championships and also had a 3-3 record against the Tigers.

It will be interesting to see where the Tigers go in the next few months, but they certainly won’t end up with Urban Meyer.
