Report: Ex-WWE superstar Ryback in talks with Bellator

In early August, it was confirmed by Ryback that he had been granted his release from WWE. He hasn’t been very busy on the independent scene since then, but it looks like he could be putting a big name promotion under his belt.

Ryback, who legally changed his name from Ryan Reeves to continue using his ring name on the independent scene after his release, joined X1075 in his hometown of Las Vegas Tuesday morning and said he had been entertaining the possibility of taking a fight with the Spike TV MMA promotion Bellator. T

his was later confirmed by Jeremy Botter of FloSports.

Last year, former WWE superstar and current UFC fighter CM Punk admitted to leaving WWE because it was an unsafe working environment. He specifically called out Ryback for being too reckless in the ring.

How ironic is it that a little over a year later Ryback has left WWE and will be pursuing a career in mixed martial arts.
