Duke RB Jela Duncan out vs. Virginia

The Duke Blue Devils pulled off an unbelievable win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last week to get to 2-2 on the season. They look to pull out their first conference win of the year on Saturday when they host the Virginia Cavaliers.

However, when they welcome in the visiting Wahoos, the Blue Devils will do so without starting running back Jela Duncan. He will miss Saturday’s game with an ankle injury suffered on the final offensive drive of last week’s win over Notre Dame.

Duke also announced defensive Dominic McDonald will be out Saturday while reserve linebacker Tinashe Bere will be out for the rest of the season.

Duncan had a great game against the Fighting Irish last week as he rushed for a season-high 121 yards. So far on the year, Duncan has 314 yards and four touchdowns on 56 attempts.

The Blue Devils will certainly miss having his production and will have to turn to Shaun Wilson, who is second on the team with 122 yards. They will also possibly rely on the legs of quarterback Daniel Jones, who has 100 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries this year.

Duke and Virginia meet up at 12:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday with the game airing on ESPN3.
