Notre Dame set to host Bowling Green in 2019

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are struggling this year, but they hope to turn things around before it is too late. If they can’t, they have one game to look forward to in the coming years as they will have a future meeting with the Bowling Green Falcons for the 2019 season.

The Falcons announced the 2019 game with one of college football’s blueblood programs on Thursday afternoon. The game is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 2019 and it should be a fun one between the Midwest programs.

We are excited to add a team as tradition-rich as Notre Dame to our non-conference schedule for the 2019 season,” Bowling Green athletic director Bob Moosbrugger said in a statement. “Not only will BGSU football student-athletes benefit from the game day experience, but this game will provide a great opportunity for our football season ticket holders, Falcon Club members and alumni.”

Notre Dame is the fourth power football program the Falcons have announced future meetings with in the last few months. They are set to meet up with Northwestern next year, Georgia Tech in 2018 and Tennessee to open the 2021 season.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams and Bowling Green is looking to pull off a huge upset. In the last five years, they have pulled off upsets over Maryland, Purdue, and Indiana while also playing huge games against seven other Power Five programs.
