Leonard Fournette ‘very doubtful’ to play vs. Missouri

The first game of the post-Les Miles era for the LSU Tigers could also be without another familiar face. Star running back Leonard Fournette has been dealing with an ankle injury that could keep him out of action for this weekend’s game against the Missouri Tigers.

In fact, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Fournette is “very doubtful” for today’s game.

From McMurphy:

LSU RB Leonard Fournette is “very doubtful” for tonight’s game with Missouri, a source told ESPN. Fournette injured his ankle in the fourth quarter of last week’s loss at Auburn. Fournette had originally injured the ankle in August, which required a walking boot.

The nagging injury has been bothering Fournette throughout the first month of the season and even forced him to miss LSU’s second game of the season, a win over Jacksonville State.

This season, Fournette has rushed for 386 yards and two touchdowns.

LSU and Missouri are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network as both teams look for their third win of the season.
