Vols CB Justin Martin suspended for Georgia game

|

The Tennessee Volunteers secondary depth has taken a hit ahead of today’s SEC East clash against the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens. According to reports, cornerback Justin Martin will be held out of action due to a suspension.

Martin was suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules, according to the Knoxville News.

Without Martin in the secondary, the Vols will turn to freshman Baylen Buchanan in the starting lineup as they attempt to prevent Georgia true freshman quarterback Jacob Eason from finding openings down the field.

Martin, who was forced to miss Tennessee’s game against Ohio due to an ankle injury, has nine total tackles in three games this season.

Kickoff between the No. 11 Vols and No. 25 Bulldogs is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Sanford Stadium, airing on CBS.
